An RIBA award-winning low cost self-build house constructed using a kit of parts to create a liveable glass and steel pavilion. The project uses a simple steel portal frame to create an open plan area that can be sub divided in a wide number of permutations. The external skin is a mixture of large glass sliding panels and highly insulated steel infill panels to create a thermally efficient building. The south and west facing facades are clad with integral external shading in order to prevent overheating form solar gain.
