Hoover Building conversion now under construction!
We are delighted that construction work has now started on the residential conversion of the Hoover Building in west London. The Grade 2* listed building required careful and considered design in its conversion from an office to 66 apartments complementing the historic fabric to ensure the continued legacy of this important building.
Proposals fully restore the existing facades, including the iconic double height Crittal steel framed windows, as well as extending the roof to provide additional accommodation. The roof utilises sinusoidal profiled cladding typical of the industrial aesthetic and large flush glazed rooflights, creating a subservient element set back from the main facade.
We worked closely alongside architects BrooksMurray and structural engineers Webb Yates on the project. The project received planning approval last year and is due for completion in 2017.
